About the Role
Working in the Group COO Office means working at the intersection of strategy and execution. Reporting to Barbara Karuth‑Zelle, Group COO, the office manages the agenda of a global portfolio that spans Operations, IT and Security, including the Allianz Technology and Allianz Services Business Division. We are the link between Ops & IT strategy and execution – working closely with other Board offices, Operating Entities and external partners across the Allianz Group.
In this role, you will not simply support from the sidelines. You will contribute to content, shape strategic initiatives, and help drive decisions that move the Group forward. Impact and Responsibilities
- Prepare content, presentations, and communications for the Group COO across her agenda – for internal and external audiences – in close coordination with the office
- Contribute to strategic concepts in Operations and IT, and provide hands‑on support from problem framing to execution
- Act as an interface between the Group COO Office and key stakeholders across the organization, including Operating Entities, other Board offices, and corporate functions
- Prepare and organize senior management events, committees, and development conferences
- Manage day‑to‑day office priorities and special assignments, balancing steady execution with ad‑hoc demands
- Identify topics that advance Allianz’s operational and digital transformation and help move them forward
Minimum Qualifications
- Outstanding academic track record, preferably in IT, Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration (Master's degree or equivalent)
- At least 5–7 years of professional experience in consulting, project management, or leadership roles, with exposure to Operations, IT, digital innovation, and/or transformation topics
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to synthesize complex information into a coherent, well‑structured perspective
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail and a drive for high‑quality results
- Confident communicator with a natural ease in daily interactions with senior management and Board‑level stakeholders
- Leadership ambition and management potential; completion of the Allianz Executive Development Center is a plus
- High level of reliability, dedication, and personal commitment
- Proven experience in an international environment with strong cross‑cultural competence
- Fluent in both German and English (mandatory); additional languages are a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in insurance or asset management, consulting, or digital and technology functions
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly in operations and business processes
- Experience in applying Generative AI and Ethical AI solutions
