The Genetic Sciences teams are at the forefront of genomic discoveries, enabling innovation through advanced genetic analysis technologies, workflows, and services across cancer research, molecular diagnostics, human identification, agrigenomics, and more.

Location:
Germany – Remote / Field. Coverage includes Germany and other countries in the Central region. Ideally based in West-Germany e.g. Frankfurt, Cologne, Duesseldorf.

Are you passionate about making a difference within the Life Science segment and looking for a role that combines science, training, troubleshooting, and close customer interaction? As a Field Application Scientist – Flow Cytometry, you will work with leading scientific organizations and pharmaceutical companies, providing expert application support and contributing to customer success in a fast-paced, global environment.

A Day in the Life:
You will serve as a trusted scientific expert for flow cytometry applications, supporting customers through in-person visits, remote communication, and training activities. Your work will include product demonstrations, seminars, troubleshooting, and collaboration with internal teams to introduce and support new products and applications.

What to expect:

  • Deliver in-house and on-site scientific application support and customer training

  • Perform product demonstrations and technical presentations

  • Prepare and present seminars for diverse scientific audiences

  • Troubleshoot complex customer issues and provide effective solutions

  • Support product launches and new application development

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support customer and business needs

  • Contribute to regional training and service sales objectives

  • Travel extensively within the assigned territory (50–75%)

Keys to Success:

Education

  • MSc or PhD in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Stem Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience working with flow cytometry instruments
  • Minimum of 4 years of laboratory experience, including sample preparation, compensation, and use of appropriate controls
  • Experience in spectral flow cytometry is preferred
