About the Role We are expanding our global pool of Freelance Transcribers and Audio/Video Annotators to support multilingual AI training projects. You will work on tasks involving transcription, labeling, and review of audio/video data — sometimes from scratch and sometimes by validating AI-generated transcripts. Tasks are completed within online labeling platforms, Google Sheets, or Excel. Your work will contribute directly to improving speech recognition, transcription, and emotion-detection systems used in global AI platforms. Responsibilities Transcribe and annotate audio or video files according to detailed project guidelines. Review and correct AI-generated transcripts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper timestamping. Identify and tag speaker turns, emotions (e.g., happy, neutral, angry), and non-speech sounds (e.g., laughter, claps, coughs). Maintain a minimum quality accuracy of 95%. Communicate with Project Leads and Coordinators for clarifications when needed. Follow all data security and confidentiality requirements. Requirements Full professional proficiency in one or more of the following languages: German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, or Korean Excellent listening, comprehension, and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured transcription and labeling rules. Basic-to-intermediate experience with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. Access to a stable internet connection and a reliable laptop or desktop computer. Good-quality headphones or audio equipment for accurate transcription. Ability to meet quality and deadline expectations. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in transcription, labeling, linguistic QA, or data annotation. Familiarity with AI/LLM-generated transcription workflows. Experience with labeling or annotation platforms. Work Environment Fully remote, flexible freelance arrangement. Tasks are released through labeling platforms, Google Sheets, or Excel. Communication and coordination occur via Teams or Slack. Clear task instructions, examples, and quality guidelines are provided before each assignment. Classification & Compliance This is a freelance / independent contractor engagement — not an employment relationship. No guaranteed hours, benefits, or employment rights are associated with this role. For non-U.S. participants, classification and taxation will follow local freelance or independent contractor regulations. U.S.-based contractors will be classified under Form 1099. Non-U.S. contractors will be required to complete a W-8BEN form (for tax compliance under U.S. regulations). Work hours depend entirely on task availability. Average workload may range from 0–20 hours per week, depending on client volume.
