GCP DevOps Engineer (HPC / GPU) – Energy Trading

We are building a high-performance Weather Data Pipeline for systematic Energy Trading and are looking for a senior GCP DevOps Engineer with strong HPC and GPU experience.

This is a clearly defined build-phase project with production-grade standards and measurable deliverables.

Scope of Work

You will design and operate a high-performance cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to support large-scale atmospheric model processing.

Core Responsibilities

GCP Infrastructure

• Setup and management of Compute Engine GPU instances (NVIDIA A100)
• Handling Spot / Preemptible instance lifecycles
• Cost optimization using Committed Use Discounts (CUDs)
• Design of scalable storage hierarchies
• High-I/O Balanced Persistent Disks for GPU caching
• Efficient migration of large tensor outputs to GCS for archiving

Networking & Security

• VPC configuration and secure architecture design
• IAM role implementation aligned with best practices

Orchestration Support

• Infrastructure support for Apache Airflow
• Implementation of resilient, production-ready environments

Ideal Profile

• Proven experience building GPU-based HPC environments on GCP
• Strong DevOps mindset with production-grade security awareness
• Experience supporting scientific or data-intensive workloads
• Independent, delivery-oriented, and fully remote capable
• 75 man-days (624 hours)
• Weekly timesheets
• 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
• 100% remote
• Project period: March 30 – July 15, 2026
