The Baden-Württemberg Library Service Center (BSZ) provides IT-supported services for academic libraries, museums, and archives, particularly in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, and Saarland. The BSZ does not operate its own data center, but cooperates with the state's university data centers and its partner institution, the GBV network center in Göttingen.

The IT department coordinates internal and external cooperation and is responsible for the operation of the basic IT infrastructure.

You will work in a dedicated team as head of the BSZ's IT department and in close coordination with the management. The position is initially limited to three years.

Areas of responsibility

Your tasks

• Design, establishment, and management of an IT staff unit at the BSZ
• Coordination (staff of the department, external companies, developers, and in-house administrators)
• Strategy and development of coordination structures for IT use, in particular with the KIM of the University of Konstanz (VMware, firewall, network, email server, etc.)
• IT investment planning
• IT project planning
• Ensuring the necessary IT infrastructure, including workstation computers
• Taking on operational activities
• Collaboration in the ISMS structure

• Completed university degree in science (with initial successful IT experience and relevant management experience as a manager, preferably in the public sector)
