Join 1KOMMA5° as the Head of Utility Products & Services and help build Germany’s largest one‑stop‑shop for solar panels, heat pumps, electricity solutions, and charging infrastructure. Positions available in Berlin, Munich, or Hamburg.

1KOMMA5° is creating a unified platform that reviews and integrates all aspects of the energy transition—sales, installation, and servicing—so customers can ride the rhythm of wind and sun. We’re looking for a leader who can guide our product strategy, grow the team, and partner with engineering, operations and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define the Global Utility Product Vision: set and steward the global product vision and strategy for 1KOMMA5°’s utility business—metering, tariffs, trading, and flexibility services—and drive the long‑term roadmap.
• Lead and grow your Product Team & Stakeholders: manage and mentor a team of Product Managers in key product domains, fostering ownership and innovation.
• Standardize and scale core systems and processes: develop global standards for systems, technical setups, and partner integrations; ensure consistent, efficient retail energy products across markets.
• Drive operational excellence: oversee market operations processes, embed best practice into product design, and collaborate with Engineering, Energy Operations, and Trading.
• Monitor performance and deliver business impact: track KPIs across product performance, operational efficiency, customer outcomes and profitability, using data to inform decisions.
• Align internal and external stakeholders: coordinate with Engineering, Commercial, Energy Operations and external partners (utilities, DSOs, market operators).
• Anticipate market and regulatory developments: stay ahead of trends, translate opportunities into actionable product initiatives.
• Lead commercial and go‑to‑market success: partner with Sales, Marketing and Market Leads to position and scale energy products globally.

Profile

Leadership & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years in product, commercial or operational leadership in the energy sector, preferably energy retail/utility, tariffs, services, across multiple markets.
• Proven experience managing product managers or cross‑functional teams and owning a complex product domain that balances business and operational/technical dimensions.
• Experience building or scaling products in energy retail, tariffs, metering/trading integration or flexibility services.

Domain & Market Expertise

• Deep understanding of energy retail business—tariffs, pricing models, metering roll‑out and operations, trading/settlement, market communications—across multiple countries.
• Strong familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market operations in the energy sector.
• Exposure to flexibility services, distributed energy resources (DERs), and digital energy services is highly advantageous.

Technical & Operational Acumen

• Comfortable engaging with technical teams on system architecture, data flows, integration of tools and processes (metering, billing, trading, partner platforms).
• Strong operational discipline, ability to translate operational/process complexity into scalable product models.

Commercial & Strategic Mindset

• Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical skills; build business cases, prioritise investments and measure ROI.
• Strategic thinker who can also roll up sleeves and deliver in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Leadership & Communication

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and German.
• Able to influence and align internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead people, build strong teams, mentor product managers, and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
