As a Mechatronics Technician (m/f/d) at Univercell, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our technical equipment – both mechanical and electrical. Your work plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational safety, availability, and efficiency of our machinery, systems, and building infrastructure.

UniverCell produces electrodes and cells based on lithium-ion technology for batteries in Germany. With everything we do, we make sustainable energy usable and develop highest-quality energy storage systems with innovative technology and maximum performance. Our products are used in aerospace, medical products and other areas where the highest quality and performance are required.

Responsibilities

Electrical Tasks:

• Inspection and maintenance of electrical systems
• Repairs and servicing of electrical control and protection systems
• Implementing and documenting improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability
• Coordination of external electrical service providers

Mechanical Tasks:

• Maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery and building systems (e.g. drives, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, etc.)
• Performing adjustments, calibrations, lubrication, and wear inspections
• Collaboration with the engineering department to improve process workflows

Project-Based Tasks:

• Construction or modification of equipment and tools (e.g. auxiliary devices, fixtures)
• Participation in optimization projects across different work areas, including documentation
• Support during site expansions, new installations, and commissioning of machines and systems

Additional Tasks:

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and root cause analysis of mechanical and electrical malfunctions
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Active involvement in continuous improvement processes (CIP)

Qualifications

• Completed training as a Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Electrician, Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering, or a similar qualification
• Solid knowledge in both mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. automation technology, control and regulation systems, sensors, motor drives, etc.)
• Several years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of machinery
• Confident use of MS Office programs, especially Excel
• Strong technical understanding and manual dexterity
• Independent, structured, and goal-oriented work style
• Team player with flexibility
• High sense of responsibility regarding occupational safety and quality
• Valid Class B driver’s license required
• Forklift, crane, or aerial work platform certifications are a plus
