Network Design Engineer – SDN & Kubernetes (m/f/d)

Location: Munich (95% remote, occasional on‑site presence)

Contract type: Employee leasing (Arbeitnehmerüberlassung)

Start Date: April 20, 2026
End Date: August 30, 2026 (with extension until January 31, 2027)

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and manage a software‑defined network (software and hardware)
• Design, set up, and manage Kubernetes‑based infrastructure
• Ensure adherence of the network to guiding security guidelines (esp. IEC‑62443‑3)
• Design hybrid‑ and cloud‑networking setups

Required Hard Skills (Technical)

• Software‑defined networking and Kubernetes network infrastructure design are mandatory skills
• Proficiency in SDN technologies, including design, deployment, and management (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Open vSwitch)
• Experience integrating SDN in cloud‑native, Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
• Knowledge of SDN management, programmability, and automation techniques
• Expertise in designing and managing enterprise‑grade Kubernetes network infrastructures
• Skill in configuring and managing network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers) for containerized platforms
• Experience with resilient network designs (high availability, load balancing, redundancy) for Kubernetes
• Security & compliance: implementing network security standards, Zero Trust, secure segmentation, firewall rules
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR) and network access control, TLS/IPSec
• Hybrid, cloud, and on‑premise networking setups: designing topologies for hybrid‑cloud deployments, VPNs, firewalls, and gateways
• Team‑player and collaborator within and between teams; supports requirements team in defining the correct solution
