Join to apply for the Postdoctoral Researcher (d/w/m) in Genomics and Computational Medicine role at Berlin Institute of Health
Company description: The mission of the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) is medical translation: transferring biomedical research findings into novel approaches to personalized prediction, prevention, diagnostics and therapies and, conversely, using clinical observations to develop new research ideas. The aim is to deliver relevant medical benefits to patients and the population at large. Since 2021 the BIH has been integrated into Charité as its so‑called third pillar.
For the Computational Medicine group, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher (d/w/m) in full‑time or part‑time (min. 35 h/week) for an initial period of three years, starting as soon as possible.
We are seeking to recruit outstanding talent at different levels of experience, from emerging leaders to junior postdoctoral researchers with a focus on Human Genomics, including experience in single‑cell genomics, to join the Computational Medicine team at the Berlin Institute of Health. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong track‑record and keen interest in establishing their own research group as well as those seeking their first postdoctoral position.
We will consider candidates with experience and interest in different areas, from functional, statistical, or computational genomics. The successful candidates will have evidence of the application of cutting‑edge genomic technologies and high‑throughput screening to understand the genetic basis and mechanisms underlying human diseases. We are looking for applicants with a strong translational focus, driven to identify new genetic targets for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of different diseases in diverse populations.
For individuals with experience or interest in single‑cell genomics technologies, there is an opportunity to conduct research with recently generated large‑scale data in collaboration with the team of Prof. Simon Haas (see here).
We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion and ideology, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity. Applications from women are expressly encouraged. Severely disabled and equivalent applicants will be given special consideration if they have the same qualifications and suitability.
We believe that diverse teams representing a wide range of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds enrich our research and work.
Please submit your application via our online application form with a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae (without photo, without age statement and without information about your marital status) and other relevant attachments (such as employer references, degree certificates, etc.).
Note: If you have a foreign degree, please submit proof of recognition of your degree in Germany with your application. The proof can be obtained via the anabin database. Please note that it may be necessary to obtain a certificate assessment from the ZAB.
Proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is a prerequisite for employment for those born after 1970.
