Printed Circuit Board Design Engineer - Excellent Daily rate - 6 month rolling project

Our client, based in Freiburg, is seeking an experienced Senior PCB & Hardware Design Engineer for a contract engagement. You will own end-to-end electronics development — from initial circuit architecture and schematic capture through to routed, production-ready multi-layer PCB layouts.

This is a hands-on technical role for an engineer who is equally comfortable driving circuit architecture as validating hardware on the bench. You will work across analogue, digital, and power electronics domains, with exposure to embedded firmware development and EMC compliance.

PCB Design & Layout

• Multi-layer PCB layout in Altium Designer
• Impedance-controlled routing and signal integrity
• High-voltage and high-current power plane design
• Differential pair routing, matched-length traces
• Stackup definition and DFM optimisation
• Gerber, BOM, pick-and-place and production data
• 3D PCB model integration with mechanical CAD

Circuit & Systems Design

• Analogue, digital and mixed-signal schematic capture
• Power supply design: SMPS, flyback, linear regulators
• FPGA and microcontroller-based digital design
• Sensor interfaces, signal conditioning, ADC/DAC
• Worst-case analysis and circuit simulation (LTspice)
• FMEA, design reviews and risk assessment
• Component selection and design-to-cost optimisation
