Product Owner (m/w/d) Dealer Management System (DMS) - weitgehend Homeoffice

Our client is a large IT service provider. They are currently seeking a Product Owner (m/f/d) to support in their longterm engagement with the endcustomer which started 2026.

The project will be based in the automotive industry and will revolve around a DMS dealer management system . It is crucial that the candidate has already experience with DMS.

The Product Owner is responsible for defining product vision, prioritizing the product backlog, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality product features that align with business objectives and customer needs. This role acts as the bridge between stakeholders, customers, and the development team.

Start: asap until end 2026 --> longterm project.

Occupancy: 100%

Location: Mainly remote, one day per week onsite in Munich

Product Vision & Strategy

• Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap and work closely with Product Owner (Client business team)
• Ensure alignment with business goals, market needs, and user insights.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback synthesis.

Backlog Management

• Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog.
• Write clear and concise user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Continuously refine backlog items based on feedback and business value.
• Ensure development work aligns with product priorities and deadlines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, design, QA, marketing, and sales teams.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters and development teams to plan sprints.
• Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for product-related communication along with Product Owner (Client business).
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable work items.
• Provide timely updates and manage expectations.

Execution & Delivery

• Ensure solutions meet customer needs and quality standards.
• Validate features through testing, demos, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Track product performance using KPIs and iterate based on data.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in business, technology, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing user stories and managing product backlogs.
• German Language skills (C1 preferred)
• Automotive / DMS domain expertise

Preferred

• Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent.
• Experience with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
• Background in UX/UI principles or software development.
• Strong data-driven decision-making experience.
