Professorship (W2) for Business Informatics with a focus on software development

Join the faculty of Business and Economics at Hochschule Ansbach – University of Applied Sciences. The position commences as soon as possible and is advertised under reference no. -WIF.

Responsibilities

Representation of the subject area in teaching and applied research
Specialist teaching of the fundamentals of business informatics (programming, databases, algorithms and data structures) and advanced approaches to software development (e.g. AI in software development, agile methods, DevOps)
Teaching of other topics such as applied artificial intelligence and machine learning in all semesters of the business informatics degree program and, where appropriate, in other degree programs
Research and development activities
Proactive acquisition of third‑party funding through research and transfer activities
Practice‑oriented teaching in the subject areas – both in German and in English – and the use of digital formats (e‑learning, blended learning)
Content‑specific and strategic further development of the subject areas with a special focus on digitisation
Teaching the fundamental subjects and the subject area of appointment for similar teaching fields
High‑quality supervision of practical assignments, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses as well as doctorates
Involvement in setting up new international partnerships and maintaining existing ones
Active and interdisciplinary involvement in administering academic affairs

Qualifications

Preferably an academic university degree in the field of business informatics, informatics or a related field (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees)
Above‑average professional and academic qualifications in the field of business informatics with a focus on software engineering
Relevant professional experience in the implementation of software development projects
Very good German and English proficiency and the willingness to teach in both languages
Enthusiasm for passing on your practical experience in teaching and applied research to our students as future academics
