Overview
As a Hardware & RF Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing RF test processes. You will work closely with tooling, hardware, and design teams to ensure fully functional test environments, perform RF measurements, and support product development across the entire lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with tooling experts to program routines within the hardware regression test framework.
- Set up, calibrate, and modify test benches (e.g., DUT exchange, wiring adjustments, test station modifications).
- Implement test system upgrades to extend test coverage and continuously improve the testing environment.
- Operate and configure RF measurement instruments and communication testers for cellular standards in signaling and non-signaling modes at the modem level.
- Support and execute RF regression test campaigns.
- Investigate, analyze, and reproduce issues encountered during DUT testing.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose solutions or workarounds independently or in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Support product design through test correlation and ensure data continuity between pre‑silicon and post‑silicon phases.
- Conduct manual tests, e.g., pre‑testing RF components before assembly.
- Integrate quality improvement measures into test routines (e.g., temperature chamber cycling, system self‑tests, thermal drift compensation).
- Ensure compliance with safety testing requirements (e.g., DGUV).
- Perform operational lab activities, including inspection of test systems and identification of malfunctions.
- Manage lab inventory, organize procurement, and sort RF components.
- Develop visualization features for test results, such as spur bench calibration.
- Automate measurements and reporting using Python.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent education in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong knowledge of RF measurement techniques and cellular communication standards.
- Experience with hardware regression test frameworks and test automation.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and data visualization.
- Hands‑on experience with lab equipment setup, calibration, and DUT handling.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of quality assurance methods and continuous improvement processes.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., DGUV).
- Ability to bridge pre‑silicon investigations and post‑silicon testing.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for lab management and component tracking.
