For a key transformation project at a renowned company in the chemical industry, we are looking for an experienced freelance Technical PP/DS Consultant (f/m/d) with a strong background in ABAP OO development and software architecture. The project involves converting an APO DP&S template into S/4 and connecting it to a new planning system

Analyze existing object-oriented and functional ABAP code in APO.
Design and develop new software solutions using modern technologies like CDS-views to facilitate code pushdown to the database.
Redesign the software architecture using interfaces to ensure code reusability across different S/4 systems.
Implement automated tests for PP/DS transactions, such as the interactive planning board, using Leapwork.
Implement and refactor code in an object-oriented style using tools like Eclipse ADS and SAP Fiori.
Create automated ABAP unit tests with the goal of achieving ~80% code coverage.
Conduct code reviews utilizing advanced code checks and profilers.
Prepare technical and functional documentation.
Manage incidents via Solman and Azure DevOps, providing support and coaching to end-users in German and English during the go-live and hypercare phases.

Project Details

Start Date: January 1, 2026
Project Duration: 12 months (until December 31, 2026)
Capacity: Full-time (1,920 hours for the project duration)
Location: Nearshore (Remote)
Travel: No travel required

Skills

Mandatory experience with SAP S/4 PP/DS and the SAP APO DP&S template
Deep knowledge of complex APO DP&S functionalities (e.g., Wedding Heuristic, Tank solution, dynamic setup, aggregated planning)
Strong expertise in ABAP OO, automated testing, debugging, and performance analysis
Familiarity with an agile way of working and tools such as GIT, ABAPGit, and Confluence
Business fluent in both English and German
