Senior Java Developer/ Search Engineer

Design and build scalable, low-latency search services in Java using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.

Own search relevance: tune queries, scoring, and analyzers for complex vehicle-fitment logic.

Ensure high availability and performance through smart sharding, indexing, and caching.

Collaborate on APIs and data models for highly structured automotive data.

Own the full lifecycle: architecture, code reviews, deployment, and observability.

Serve as the go-to expert for Search within the engineering team.

5+ years in software engineering with strong focus on Search (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene).

Strong Java backend skills (Spring ecosystem).

Deep understanding of relevance, tokenization, synonyms, and large-scale performance tuning.

Cloud-native experience (AWS, ideally Amazon OpenSearch Service), Docker, Kubernetes.

Pragmatic, collaborative communicator (English required; German is a plus).
