About Your Team

Internal Audit is an independent function that reports directly to the Management Board of FFB. Our mandate is to examine and critically evaluate the effectiveness of the Company’s internal controls and governance systems, and to assess compliance with regulatory obligations, internal strategies, policies, processes and reporting procedures. We also help management and the Board fulfil their oversight responsibilities through effective challenge to identify, assess and manage the Company’s risk. Using a risk‑based methodology, we develop an annual audit plan that includes audits of specific business areas as well as thematic and emerging risks, and we participate in new initiatives and systems developments. Our staff bring extensive assurance experience and relevant professional qualifications.

About Your Role

The Associate Director Technology Audit will report directly to the FFB Chief Auditor for Germany. In this pivotal role you will deliver technology‑focused audit assignments, ensuring that applications and infrastructure are effectively controlled and associated risks are mitigated. You will plan and execute audit assignments following the FFB audit methodology, producing insightful findings and comprehensive audit reports for presentation to Senior Management. Based primarily in Germany, this position offers an opportunity to advance your career with FFB, providing invaluable cross‑functional experience and significant exposure to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over the role of Technology Audit Lead to execute planned audits, including preparation of audit scope, coverage and work papers, and managing the completion of the audit within the given timeframe and in line with audit methodology.
• Lead the audit team to document testing using best practices, form conclusions, and assist Technology in developing an action plan.
• Liaise with department heads to obtain management agreement and responses.
• Oversee team engagement with business stakeholders for validation and timely closure of audit findings.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on long‑term technology projects, including new initiatives, systems development and product launches.
• Take responsibility for audit coverage for outsourced activities to technology third‑party suppliers, assess audit and control reports and draft conclusions.
• Support the Head of Internal Audit in preparing periodic reports and dashboards for executive committees and board meetings.
• Assist the Head of Internal Audit with maintenance of the audit universe and periodic risk assessments.
• Continuously develop your technical, commercial and personal skills, and those of the technology audit team members.

About You

• Proven experience in leading a team.
• Extensive IT professional/infosec or IT auditing experience.
• Experience in systems development and/or delivery projects.
• IT Audit, Internal Audit, IT security/risk management qualification or certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CISM, CISSP.
• Proficiency in auditing operating systems, databases, networks, applications and cloud services.
• Ability to utilize data analytics tools.
• Knowledge of relevant banking regulations (e.g., KWG, CRR, MaRisk, BAIT) and understanding of implementing regulatory requirements for outsourcing relationships.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely at all levels.
• Capability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on delivery and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in report writing and presentation.
• Extensive experience in operational and technology‑integrated audits.
• Native or close‑native level of German.
• Fluent in English.
