Your Role:
As our Senior Payments Operations Manager, you'll be the guardian of our payment flow, ensuring money moves smoothly across providers, countries, and channels. From keeping an eagle eye on authorization and recovery rates to fine-tuning fraud and chargeback strategies, you'll lead the charge in optimizing our global payments infrastructure. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where your decisions will influence revenue, reduce risk, and shape the experience for millions of customers.
What You'll Be Doing:
Payment Performance & Optimization
- Monitor and improve daily payment metrics across PSPs, payment methods, and geographies.
- Detect authorization drops and anomalies early, responding swiftly and effectively.
- Drive data-backed experiments in routing, retries, dunning, and failover logic.
- Partner with Analytics to turn insights into action and deliver measurable results.
Payment Orchestration & PSP Operations
- Own and evolve our payment orchestration platform, configuring rules, weights, fallbacks, and safeguards.
- Serve as the operational point of contact for PSPs and acquiring partners like Adyen, Stripe, Checkout, and Worldpay.
- Coordinate fast, clear incident response across Payments, Engineering, and external partners.
Fraud & Chargeback Operations
- Monitor fraud rates, chargebacks, and reason codes across all flows.
- Tune fraud and 3DS logic to balance protection with conversion.
- Lead chargeback response and evidence gathering with our PSPs.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and escalate issues proactively.
Operational Excellence & Control
- Maintain clear documentation for all rules, changes, and incidents.
- Champion safe deployment practices for all payments-related changes.
- Improve alerting, monitoring, and operational visibility.
- Communicate trade-offs, risks, and incidents with clarity and confidence.
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years in payments operations, PSP operations, fraud ops, or similar.
- Experience running live payment systems and executing production changes.
- Deep knowledge of card payments, auth flows, retries, and declines.
- Direct experience with PSPs and acquirers (e.g., Adyen, Stripe, Checkout, Worldpay).
- A highly analytical mindset, comfortable reading dashboards and interpreting trends.
- Operational confidence under pressure and strong judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-first approach.
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with payment orchestration tools and logic configuration.
- Knowledge of recurring payments, subscription billing, and dunning flows.
- Familiarity with 3DS and fraud strategy tuning.
- SQL or analytics skills for self-serve investigations.
- Experience in incident management or on-call operations.
