Ready to step back from the pressure without stepping down? You've built expertise in Project Cargo—now find a role with less stress and more satisfaction. This Senior Project Manager role is that move – less stress, more satisfaction, helping build the next generation.
As a Senior Project Manager here you'd be working alongside a young, talented team (in their twenties to early thirties) who need your experience and guidance. This isn't a management position with P&L stress – it's a hands‑on role where you mentor, support day‑to‑day operations, and help shorten their learning curve.
You’ll work on projects valued between €500k‑€5m, mainly serving LATAM, Africa, and Australia/New Zealand. Focus areas include mining, cement, recycling, hydropower, and biomass – plus locomotives and rail cars. Projects range from simple flat‑rack shipments up to moving entire factories.
Your expertise in seafreight OOG, Breakbulk, and Heavy Lift will be valued daily. You’ll have commercial and operational freedom to make decisions, without the internal politics you might be used to.
Salary is up to €90,000 with the work‑life balance you've been looking for as you work towards the later part of your career. More senior and mature candidates will be preferred, as the young team needs someone to look up to.
This is a fully office‑based role in Bremen because your presence and mentorship are essential to the team.
You’ll be joining a Top 15 freight forwarder – but you’ll be working within their Project Logistics division that operates with the dynamics and feel of a smaller business. Built from scratch 15 years ago, the division has grown steadily to 28 people worldwide (12 in Austria, 4 in Germany, 5 in the US, 6 in China, 1 in Australia) with €25 m turnover. The company behind them? €2.7 bn turnover, family‑owned and financially strong. This is a division that's grown profitably every year except one in 15 years. They focus on numbers, not logos – taking on projects that make commercial sense rather than chasing big names for appearance.
The team in Bremen currently has 3 people, with 1 in Hamburg. The division head is in Bremen every 2 weeks and has been building this business with long‑term thinking – grooming the next generation to take over in ten to fifteen years.
You’ll get the freedom of action you'd find in a small company, with the financial backing and stability of a major forwarder behind you. Unlike companies focused only on mega‑projects, they maintain a steady flow of spot and smaller cargo as a base.
Your office in Bremen is owned by the company and is centrally located.
If you’re highly experienced in Project Logistics, and you’re ready to enjoy work again without the stress of management – this could be ideal. They’re not in a hurry. They’ll wait to find the right person, even if it takes 9 months. The current setup works; they’re looking to add, not replace. If this sounds of interest please apply to be considered.
