THE ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Project Controller, you will take ownership of leading financial and project control functions across all stages of solar project development, financing, construction, and operation in various European locations.

This role ensures accurate financial planning, monitoring, and reporting to support strategic decision-making and maximise project profitability. Your expertise will drive project efficiency, resource allocation, and timely delivery.

TASKS

• Lead integrated planning, budgeting, forecasting, and project controls for Solar PV and BESS projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise detailed project schedules across Europe, ensuring alignment with milestones, contractual obligations, and company objectives.
• Monitor progress against baselines and KPIs, analyse schedule impacts and critical paths, and drive corrective and mitigation actions to protect timelines and margins.
• Support risk identification and mitigation from a time, cost, and resource perspective, collaborating closely with development, engineering, and operations to ensure accurate project data and reporting.
• Prepare and present clear financial reports, dashboards, and scenario analyses on schedules, risks, and resource plans for executive management, investors, and key stakeholders to enable informed decision-making.
• Support the structuring, negotiation, and management of project financing (debt and equity), working confidently with financial models while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies and contributing to continuous improvement of project control standards and tools.

PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Project Management or Controlling.
• Proven experience in international project controlling, financial management, cost control and performance management, ideally within solar or renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction projects.
• Proficiency in planning and scheduling tools such as Monday, Primavera P6 or Site Tracker or similar.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a structured and detail‑orientated way of working.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; very good German is an advantage.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and project management tools.
