The founders — serial entrepreneurs with five successful exits — have built a world-class ML team with alumni from Amazon, Meta, Stability AI, Aleph Alpha, and leading research institutes. They’re tackling some of the hardest applied ML challenges in frontier AI, including agentic systems that reason, plan, and act autonomously within enterprise environments.

The Opportunity
As a Staff ML Engineer, you’ll be a senior technical authority driving the architecture, experimentation, and deployment of agentic LLM systems. Your work will shape the company’s frontier AI roadmap, influencing how autonomous agents interact with data, APIs, and users at scale.

This is a rare chance to own critical technical decisions for frontier AI capabilities - from integrating multi-step reasoning and tool use to optimising performance for low-latency, high-availability production environments. You’ll mentor senior engineers, guide best practices, and collaborate closely with leadership on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimise agentic LLM workflows, including reasoning, planning, and tool-use chains.
• Architect retrieval pipelines, vector databases, and RAG systems for large-scale deployments.
• Experiment with and fine-tune frontier models for enterprise-specific tasks.
• Mentor experienced ML engineers, setting high standards for technical excellence.
• Influence product and technical strategy to ensure safe, robust deployment of autonomous agents.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with LLM fine-tuning, optimisation, and deployment at scale.
• Demonstrable work on agentic systems (e.g., multi-step reasoning, autonomous task execution).
• Deep knowledge of quantisation, distillation, PEFT, and efficient inference strategies.
• Expertise in vector search, RAG pipelines, and production-grade ML systems.
• Python and PyTorch (or TensorFlow) at an expert level.
• Ability to set architectural direction and influence frontier AI strategy.
