Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Business Controlling/SAP FI CO Consultant (w/m/d) – S/4HANA Rollout

Description: For our client, a leading global chemical company, we are currently seeking an experienced freelance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Business Controlling/SAP FI CO Consultant (w/m/d) to support a global SAP S/4HANA rollout.

In this key role, you will be the primary point of contact for the business departments and will be instrumental in the design and implementation of the new financial processes.

Your Responsibilities In The Project

You will take the lead role in the Design, Build, and Test phases for the CO modules as part of the global S/4HANA rollout. As the primary contact (Subject Matter Expert) for Business Controlling, you will lead workshops for requirements analysis and process design. You will guide the business department through process standardization and provide well-founded justifications for any necessary customizations. Your responsibilities also include the functional leadership of an offshore team member in India to ensure the quality of deliverables (e.g., functional designs, test scripts, training documents).

Skills

• At least 12 years of demonstrable project experience as an SAP FI/CO Consultant.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in SAP CO, especially in SAP CO-PC (Product Cost Controlling) and the modules listed above.
• Experience in leading requirements workshops and designing business process flows in direct collaboration with business departments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics in an understandable manner.
• The project language is English; business fluency is mandatory.
• You are based and working from Germany.
