ITS Support Engineer – Simmern

Location: Based in Simmern, Germany – with flexibility to travel to other offices in Germany and occasionally to Belgium.

Contract Type: Open to both freelance and payroll arrangements.

As an ITS Support Engineer, you play a key role in maintaining a stable, secure, and high-performing IT infrastructure within an international and hybrid environment. You combine technical expertise with a service-oriented mindset and actively contribute to the optimization of both cloud and on-premise systems. You are not only a problem solver, but also an ambassador of the ITS mission, vision, and values.

Job Description

• Handle IT requests and incidents via ServiceDesk+ and ensure fast, sustainable solutions.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize servers, networks, databases, and hardware.
• Support M365, Azure AD, Intune, and Exchange; manage user accounts and mobile devices.
• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, and IAM; contribute to audits and compliance (ISO27001, NIST/CMMC).
• Document processes, share expertise, and actively participate in improvement initiatives.

Your Talents

• Degree in an IT-related field and several years of hands-on experience.
• Strong knowledge of M365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, Windows Server (2008–2022), VMware, and VDI.
• Experience with monitoring tools, Intune, ServiceDeskPlus, and scripting (e.g., Bicep, ARM).
• Basic understanding of project management and SDLC is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English; strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Analytical mindset and a proactive, customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices in Germany and Belgium.
