About Our Client

Our client is an AI startup backed by over five million dollars in seed funding. Their product places genuine artificial intelligence at the centre of its functionality. They are seeking a Tech Lead who can combine strong hands-on engineering with effective technical leadership.

This role is approximately sixty percent coding and forty percent leadership. It is ideal for someone who enjoys building high quality software while guiding a growing engineering team.

Role Overview

You will lead backend development with Python and Django while shaping architectural direction and contributing to new feature development. You will play a central role in establishing engineering practices and collaborating with product and AI specialists. Vue.js experience is not required. A willingness to learn it as part of the full stack is sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to backend development using Python and Django
• Drive architectural planning and long term technical decisions
• Design and deliver new product features in close collaboration with product and AI stakeholders
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers
• Support the growth of engineering culture and best practices
• Learn and work with Vue.js as part of the full stack environment

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Python and Django
• Background in architectural and systems design
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on coding
• Interest in learning Vue.js
• Comfortable working in an early stage and fast moving environment
• Availability to work within EU time zones
