    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Citymapper. We are currently looking for a Strategy & Operations Principal, City Performance in the United States.

    This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects that directly influence operational performance and strategic outcomes across urban transportation networks. The Strategy & Operations Principal will set objectives, manage complex projects end-to-end, and deliver actionable insights to improve efficiency and scalability. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including product, finance, operations, and data science—you will translate analytical findings into innovative solutions. This position involves collaborating with both internal and external partners to optimize services, launch new initiatives, and enhance overall performance. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced, data-driven environments, are skilled communicators, and can generate actionable insights from complex datasets. Leadership and mentorship of junior team members are also key components of the role.

    Accountabilities

    In this role, you will:

    • Own weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial targets while developing strategies to achieve them.
    • Analyze operational and financial data to inform decision-making and improve performance across services.
    • Contribute to product development and feature rollouts to optimize both internal processes and user-facing offerings.
    • Collaborate with executives and cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Partner Success, Sales, Business Development, Expansion, Operations, and Growth teams.
    • Ideate, pitch, and execute proposals to enhance efficiency and unlock new value across services.
    • Lead external partnerships and internal teams to support strategic objectives, scale operations, and maximize impact.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience, preferably at high-growth startups, established tech companies, consulting, or financial firms.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a strong record of academic and professional achievement; MBA is a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex, cross-functional projects from inception to execution.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python, or equivalent.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex analyses into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
    • Collaborative mindset and ability to drive alignment and buy-in across multi-team, multi-geography organizations.
    • Experience mentoring and managing junior team members.
