W2-Professorship (50%) Applied Human Medicine (m/f/d)

For the newly established "Physician Assistant" degree program, we are filling a part-time W2 professorship in “Applied Human Medicine (m/f/d)" at Hochschule Kaiserslautern.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who, in addition to teaching, will drive the further development of the degree program. The aim is to train physician assistants at a high level in close coordination with clinical and practice-based cooperation partners and to reflect this in all teaching formats.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic medical principles such as anatomy, physiology and pathology in a clinically relevant context.
• Contribute to the design and development of the new degree program and participate in its further expansion.
• Engage in practice-oriented and application-oriented teaching formats, including new (digital) formats.
• Support students and contribute to career-integrated study concepts with strong practical components.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teaching of medical content and collaborate with international partner universities; offer courses in English.
• Actively participate in university self-administration and share professional experience with students.
• Engage in applied research activities and contribute to third-party funding and cooperative doctorates where possible.
• Represent the subject areas in teaching and applied research and foster collaboration with clinical partners and research institutions.

Qualifications

• A degree, preferably in human medicine, including a doctorate or PhD.
• Extensive practical clinical experience.
• The ability and experience to teach basic medical principles in a clinically relevant way.
• A high affinity for practical, application-oriented teaching and willingness to participate in international exchanges.
• Willingness to teach in German (C1) and English; German language skills are required; teaching language is mainly German.
