2 PhD positions in computational biochemistry and machine learning
There are currently 2 open PhD positions to work with Dr. Ariane Nunes Alves (Technical University of Berlin) and prof. Dr. Silke Leimk 9cu fchler (University of Potsdam).
One PhD position is to work on the development of machine learning models to predict Michaelis constants for aldehyde oxidase enzymes. The candidate is expected to have good programming skills and experience with modeling of biological systems. Experience with machine learning is desirable.
The other PhD position is to study the effects of cell-like quinary interactions over the activity of aldehyde oxidase using simulations and experiments. The candidate is expected to have experience with modeling and simulation of biological systems.
More information about the projects can be found here (proposals 1 and 11):
A master degree in Chemistry, Biology or related areas is required. The PhD positions start on October 2022.
The PhD positions are part of the Berlin International Graduate School of Natural Sciences and Engineering (BIG-NSE). The main characteristic of the BIG-NSE is a comprehensive integration and mentoring programme for its students, especially foreign students.
