Accountant (Workday Financials)

Our client, a leading investment business operating across the EU, is seeking a permanent Accountant to join their finance team in London, Munich, or Düsseldorf. This is a hands-on, day-to-day accounting role offering broad exposure across multiple finance functions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting finance operations, handling a variety of processes from supplier invoices and journals to balance sheet and bank reconciliations, as well as VAT reporting. As part of a small, agile team, you will need to be adaptable and capable of taking ownership across multiple areas.

Workday Financials experience is essential. We are seeking a business user who is comfortable using Workday in day-to-day accounting operations. While highly technical or system configuration skills are not required, strong hands-on familiarity with Workday is crucial. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-border finance environment, contributing to key processes that support the business across the EU.

Your Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate postings
• Maintain journals and ensure correct balance sheet entries
• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Manage VAT reporting and compliance requirements
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Take ownership of accounting processes across multiple areas, providing flexibility beyond a single specialization

Desired Qualifications

• Strong practical experience with Workday Financials
• Proven hands-on accounting experience in a day-to-day finance role
• Solid knowledge of supplier invoices, journals, balance sheets, bank reconciliations, and VAT
• Ability to work independently in a small team and manage multiple tasks across different areas
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience in a cross-border or multi-country finance environment is a plus
