Position Overview
Microserve is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for accounts payable processing in our accounting system. You will be responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Working as part of our Accounting team, the successful candidate will report to the Accounting Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process accounts payable invoices, expenses and contractor invoices and cheques
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Validate and allocate expenses to correct general ledger coding and department
- Sort and file all paid invoices and other documents, as needed electronically (PDF filing)
- Assist reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Ensure QuickBooks is updated regularly for accuracy of vendor contact and address information
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Perform other related accounts payable duties as required
- Assist in various ad hoc and special projects
- Maintain historical records
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Other duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in accounting or related field is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- A high level of attention to detail
- Strong time management skills to handle Accounts Payable activities
- Team player and a self-starter, able to work independently and effectively as required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with a high volume of accounts payable
- Proficient with MS Office and preferably QuickBooks or ConnectWise software
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 preferred

Compensation
In accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act the range for this role for BC residents is $47,000-$55,000 annually. Please note, while the pay range of the role is listed here, this position’s salary is non‑negotiable based on geographical market. Your exact salary is determined based on a combination of your relevant experience, skill, competencies, and internal pay equity.
