About the Role

Swiss Himmel GmbH is looking for a strategic and hands‑on Associate Director – Digital Workplace Architect to lead large‑scale Digital Workplace and End User Computing (EUC) transformations across Germany and the wider DACH region.

This is a senior leadership role combining enterprise architecture, solution design, governance, presales, and delivery assurance , with a strong focus on Zero Trust, modern endpoint management, automation, and measurable digital employee experience (DEX) .

You will define the target architecture, guide complex transformation programs, and act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders while ensuring compliance with German regulatory and co‑determination requirements.

Architecture & Strategy

• Own and evolve the Digital Workplace target architecture and multi‑year roadmap across Windows, macOS, mobile, VDI, and cloud services
• Define reference architectures, standards, and transformation blueprints
• Lead current‑state assessments, target‑state design, and migration strategies for enterprise environments
• Align workplace architecture with business outcomes such as productivity, cost optimization, compliance, sustainability, and employee experience

Solution Design & Governance

• Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture across:
  • Microsoft 365 (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Entra ID / Conditional Access / Defender
  • Intune & UEM (Autopilot, ABM/DEP, modern management)
  • VDI (Citrix, AVD, VMware Horizon)
  • Collaboration, meeting room & workplace services
  • DEX / Experience analytics (e.g., Nexthink, Lakeside)
• Define security, compliance, and privacy‑by‑design controls in collaboration with Security, Legal, and Data Protection teams
• Establish governance frameworks, design reviews, and technical standards

Delivery Leadership & Experience Outcomes

• Provide architectural oversight across complex programs and workstreams
• Define and track KPIs / OKRs for digital employee experience and operational excellence
• Drive automation, self‑service, and AIOps to reduce TCO and improve service quality
• Ensure resilience, performance, and business continuity for workplace services

Stakeholder Management & Presales

• Act as the senior architectural point of contact for CIO, CTO, CISO, HR, Procurement, Facilities, and Works Councils
• Lead presales activities (RFPs, solution costing, business cases, orals, PoCs)
• Support vendor selection, commercial discussions, and license optimization
• Contribute to portfolio development, accelerators, and thought leadership

Compliance & Germany‑Specific Governance

• Ensure alignment with GDPR, BDSG, BITV 2.0, and ArbSchG
• Engage with Works Councils (Betriebsrat) on employee data, monitoring, and workplace change
• Support DPIAs and co‑determination agreements
• Align identity, device trust, and data residency with EU regulatory requirements

Your Profile

• 12–15+ years in Digital Workplace / EUC, including 7+ years in architecture or strategy roles
• Proven track record delivering large enterprise transformations (10,000+ endpoints)
• Deep hands‑on expertise in:
  • Microsoft 365 & Entra ID security stack
  • Microsoft Intune / modern endpoint management
  • Windows 11 & macOS management
  • VDI platforms (Citrix / AVD / VMware Horizon)
  • PowerShell, Graph API, packaging & automation
  • DEX / experience analytics platforms
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, identity‑first security, DLP, MAM/MAP, and encryption
• Experience in governance, audit readiness, and regulated environments
• Presales and consulting experience with C‑level engagement
• Fluent German (C1) and English

Nice to Have

• TOGAF, ITIL v4, Microsoft, Citrix, or Nexthink certifications
• Experience with ServiceNow, SCCM → Intune transitions, software metering, and FinOps for M365
• Knowledge of network access control, printing modernization, Teams Rooms / AV solutions
• Experience drafting Works Council agreements for IT / DEX solutions
• Exposure to sustainability initiatives in EUC
