Associate – Financial Restructuring (m/f/d)

About the Company

We are working with a leading restructuring advisory firm in Germany, part of a global advisory platform, to hire an Associate into their Frankfurt team. The firm advises corporates, shareholders and lenders on complex distressed and special situations, with strong deal flow across mid- and large-cap mandates.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on role with direct exposure to high‑impact restructuring situations.

Responsibilities

• Execution of financial and operational restructuring mandates
• Development of integrated financial models, including short‑term liquidity (13‑week cash flow)
• Contribution to independent business reviews and restructuring concepts (IDW S6)
• Involvement in StaRUG and insolvency‑related processes
• Support stakeholder negotiations (lenders, shareholders, management)
• Work on distressed M&A / special situations transactions
• Close interaction with senior stakeholders, including CROs

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ experience in:
• Restructuring advisory (preferred), or
• Financial restructuring teams within IB / consulting
• Clear exposure to distressed situations (beyond pure refinancing / debt advisory)
• Experience with:
• Liquidity modelling / cash flow forecasting
• German restructuring frameworks (e.g. StaRUG, insolvency)
• IDW S6 (strong plus)
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Fluent / native German (mandatory)
• Strong academic background
