Backend Engineer - Mid Level - Integrations

Overview

Join our growing integrations team in Prague , focusing on building modern, scalable integrations with systems like ServiceNow, MS Sharepoint or Workday. This team is part of a broader initiative to bring integrations in-house and unify how Staffbase interacts with third-party platforms.

You’ll work with modern backend technologies to deliver robust, customer-facing services that streamline IT workflows and workplace automations. This position is best suited to engineers who enjoy solving complex backend challenges while collaborating closely with frontend colleagues to deliver complete user experiences.

This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with the view of becoming a long-term opportunity as we continue to grow our Prague hub.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, and maintain integration services between Staffbase and 3rd party systems
• Develop backend components and services using Java/Kotlin and/or .NET , ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to build cohesive end-to-end user journeys
• Contribute to shared integration architecture and tooling across team
• Take ownership of how integrations are designed, built, and scaled as part of a growing platform initiative
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and alignment with best practices

What you need to be successful

• 3+ years of experience in backend software development with Java/Kotlin , and demonstrable capability to work with .NET technologies.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs , integration patterns, and microservice architecture
• Strong experience integrating with Microsoft 365 or SharePoint technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based systems (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
• Curiosity and flexibility to contribute to frontend discussions or simple UI integrations
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a fast-growing SaaS environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Appreciation of diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
• Excellent English communication skills
• Exposure to React/Typescript is great but not required
