Brand & Communications Manager (Freelance, f/m/x)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Brand & Communications Manager (Freelance)

Temporary, Part‑time – Berlin BMW Motorrad Welt

Your mission

About the Project: BMW Motorrad Welt Berlin is more than a showroom – it’s a physical space where brand, community, culture and motorcycle identity meet. Located in Spandau , the space brings together a showroom, shop, bistro and event formats, acting as a hub for the BMW Motorrad and peripheral motorcycle community in Berlin.

For a long‑term project running until December 2027 , we are looking for an experienced, Berlin‑based freelance Brand & Communications Manager to help shape, activate and grow this space – both on‑site and digitally.

This is a hands‑on, senior freelance role with a high degree of ownership. You will collaborate closely with BMW Motorrad and project stakeholders while independently driving marketing, communication and event‑led activation strategies that bring people through the door.

The Role in a Nutshell:

This role sits at the intersection of cultural event marketing, community building and digital communication .

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is interested and active in Berlin’s cultural landscape and communities
  • Understands how to market events, experiences and physical spaces
  • Can translate brand values into inclusive, relevant, local programming
  • Is equally comfortable concepting events , shaping narratives, and executing marketing plans
  • Is motivated by the challenge of activating a space – not just communicating about it

You will help define why people come to BMW Motorrad Welt Berlin, what they experience when they do, and how we continuously evolve the program to stay culturally relevant.

  • Concept, shape and evolve event formats (workshops, talks, screenings, community rides, theme days, collaborations)
  • Ensure events are culturally relevant, inclusive and aligned with Berlin’s communities
  • Support event organisation and coordination at a strategic level
  • Shape communication for ticketing, event promotion, newsletters and web updates

3. Marketing Management & Budget Coordination

  • Identify effective marketing activities across digital, social and on‑site channels
  • Plan and coordinate the project’s marketing budget
  • Manage content and creative production workflows
  • Collaborate with external creatives, photographers, videographers and designers

4. Content Development & Online Marketing

  • Oversee external photo & video productions
  • Shape content for social media, website, newsletters and on‑site screens
  • Ensure a strong editorial and visual quality across all outputs
  • Identify storylines that resonate with Berlin‑based audiences and motorcycle culture

5. Community, Merch & Physical Touchpoints

  • Develop merchandise and giveaway concepts connected to events and community moments
  • Coordinate design, suppliers and production
  • Integrate merch and physical touchpoints into the overall experience strategy

6. On‑Site Experience & Spatial Communication

  • Contribute ideas to elevate the on‑site experience across showroom, shop and bistro
  • Ensure the space feels cohesive, welcoming and alive – not static
  • Align physical communication with digital storytelling

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Maintain close alignment with BMW Motorrad and location teams

Your profile

  • Berlin‑based , with a strong understanding of the city’s cultural and creative landscape
  • Fluent German (non‑negotiable) ; strong English a plus
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications for cultural events, experiences or community‑driven spaces
  • Strong background in online marketing and content‑led promotion
  • Experience managing creative productions and working with external partners
  • Senior, self‑steering freelancer with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Confident handling multiple conversations with stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong conceptual, visual and editorial sensibility
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands‑on
  • Bonus: experience with partnerships, community programs or merchandise
