The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading specialty chemicals organisation operating at the forefront of infection prevention, disinfectants, and healthcare hygiene solutions to appoint a Business Development Manager for the DACH region.

This is a pure growth role with a strong hunter mandate, focused on driving new business acquisition across the medical device and healthcare market. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market presence, opening new customer relationships, and commercialising regulated disinfectant and biocidal solutions in technically complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development across the European region, targeting customers within the medical device and healthcare ecosystem (e.g. OEMs, reprocessing, sterilisation, infection prevention, healthcare services).
  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospect identification and outreach through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy, identifying priority segments, applications, and target accounts.
  • Position specialty chemical disinfectant solutions in a value-based selling model, translating technical performance, efficacy, and regulatory compliance into clear commercial benefits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, including Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Operations, and Infection Control.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (Technical, Regulatory, Marketing, Supply Chain) to deliver tailored customer solutions.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting through CRM systems.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory developments relevant to disinfectants, biocides, and healthcare applications.

Requirements

  • Proven hunter-style B2B sales experience, with a strong track record of new customer acquisition and closing complex sales in technically driven markets.
  • Demonstrated experience within the specialty chemicals market serving healthcare, such as infection prevention, cleaning & hygiene, disinfectants, formulated or performance chemicals, active ingredients, or technical chemical solutions.
  • Solid exposure to the medical device or healthcare technology market, including OEMs, device manufacturers, reprocessing/sterilisation, endoscopy, or adjacent regulated healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of disinfectants and biocidal chemistry.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a technical, value-based sales environment, confidently articulating product performance, efficacy, material compatibility, and regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to engage cross-functionally both internally and externally.
  • Fluent in English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the European region.

Desirable

  • Background in specialty or performance chemicals with applications in healthcare, life sciences, or cleaning & hygiene markets.
  • Experience working with distribution partners or indirect sales models within specialty chemicals.
  • Strong understanding of the interface between medical devices and biocides, including positioning, claims, and go-to-market strategy in regulated markets.
  • Established network across infection prevention, medical devices, healthcare hygiene, or specialty chemical customers in Europe.

What’s on Offer

  • A high-impact commercial role within a growing and strategically important healthcare segment.
  • Significant autonomy and ownership of market growth within Europe.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary and performance-related bonus.
  • Flexible, remote-based working model with strong internal support.
  • Opportunity to work with technically differentiated products in a highly regulated, mission-critical market.
