Business Development Manager (Europe, Central Asia and Israel) (Frankfurt Office)

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is Hong Kong’s statutory body for promoting Hong Kong’s trade with the world. Its Frankfurt Regional Office is inviting applications for the following position:

Business Development Manager (Europe, Central Asia and Israel)

on-site position at our Frankfurt office

Key Responsibilities

• Promote HKTDC's trade fairs to exhibitors and buyers from Europe, Central Asia, and Israel
• Organise HKTDC’s marketing and promotional programme and activities
• Handle and supervise logistical issues of events, such as venue set‑up, delegates’ travel, liaison with contractors and freight forwarders, etc.; provide on‑site support and other administrative support as and when necessary
• Exercise budgetary control of projects
• Liaise and coordinate with Head Office, other branch offices and business matching team, recruit companies and visitors to take part in HKTDC’s events and promote HKTDC’s products and services
• Prepare promotional materials for recruitment and publicity purpose
• Develop and maintain good relations with relevant industry and trade associations and multipliers
• Conduct market visits, collect market intelligence and identify promotional opportunities for Hong Kong companies

Job Requirements

• A recognised university degree with at least eight years’ solid working experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales/business development; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc
• Experience in a sales and business development role within the exhibition industry is highly desirable
• Strong interests in and understanding of Hong Kong’s economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong companies
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and German
• Mature with superior skills in marketing and communication
• A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
• Customer-oriented
• Self‑motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability
• Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
• Willing to work overtime and on occasionally on public holidays and make business trips when required
• Proficient in MS Office applications

Remuneration and Benefits
