Business Development Specialist, Payments (f/m/d)

Transactions (Payments & Shipping) is a key enabler for Kleinanzeigen to scale its business and bring convenience and safety to our users. By building trusted transactional experiences, you help millions of people buy and sell on the platform with confidence. In this role, you support the development and execution of our payments strategy, working with internal teams and external partners to grow adoption, improve conversion, and strengthen user trust across our transactional offering. You play a key role in scaling secure and seamless payment experiences across the marketplace.

This is a hybrid role, our office is in Berlin-Charlottenburg. You report to the Head of Core Marketplace.

What You’ll Do

• Support the development of Kleinanzeigen’s payments strategy and transactional roadmap.

• Build analyses and business cases for new payments initiatives and partnerships.

• Manage collaboration with external payment partners and internal stakeholders to expand transactional capabilities.

• Contribute to internal foundations for payments, including fraud prevention and trust infrastructure.

• Identify opportunities to improve payment adoption, conversion, and user trust based on performance data.

• Partner with Product, Finance, Legal, and Customer Service to embed transactional features seamlessly into the user experience.

Who You Are

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business-related field and 2+ years of relevant experience (e.g., Strategy, Business Development, Payments, Commercial Management, Consulting, or similar).

• You bring strong analytical and structured thinking skills and use data to derive clear, actionable insights.

• You build structured business cases and translate complex information into clear recommendations.

• You communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and enjoy working cross-functionally.

• You bring a basic understanding of the German e-commerce / re-commerce market and are curious about marketplace and platform business models.

• You use AI tools thoughtfully to speed up analysis, improve decision-making, and support high-quality outputs.
