Cable Transportation & Installation Manager (all genders)

Your future tasks

  • Take end-to-end ownership of the assigned sub-package, ensuring delivery in line with Skyborn’s stage gate model, timelines, and quality standards
  • Build, lead, and steer a high-performing sub-package team, securing the required resources across all project phases
  • Ensure full compliance with company processes, policies, systems, and safety standards, promoting a strong QHSE mindset throughout execution
  • Act as the key interface to the Geo Package, ensuring that all required surveys and analyses are properly defined, commissioned, and integrated into the project
  • Drive the analysis, optimization, and execution of transport and installation procedures, both in preparation and during offshore activities
  • Oversee and ensure the execution of HAZIDs/HAZOPs for offshore installation operations in collaboration with contractors
  • Represent Skyborn and the project in all interactions with contractors and key external stakeholders
  • Lead the preparation of ITT documentation, including Employer’s Requirements and technical specifications
  • Manage contractor performance, including contract execution, variation orders, and claims, while maintaining strong and collaborative supplier relationships
  • Coordinate and, where required, attend vessel inspections and ensure readiness for offshore operations
  • Oversee and coordinate offshore installation activities, including alignment with client representatives and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure effective engagement and management of the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) for the respective project scope
  • Take accountability for ensuring that offshore installation works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Proactively identify technical risks and challenges, keep the Package Manager informed, and develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • Facilitate and actively contribute to interface management and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring smooth coordination across all project stakeholders
  • Drive lessons learned processes and continuously improve installation and execution strategies
  • Ensure the Cable Design Team receives the necessary input and best practices for installation design
  • Take ownership of the on-time and cost-efficient installation of cables, ensuring alignment with technical and quality requirements
  • Guarantee that all activities comply with Skyborn standards, international best practices, and local regulatory requirements
  • Ensure complete and high-quality documentation handover to O&M, supporting a smooth project transition

Your profile

  • You hold a degree in engineering or a related technical field and bring several years of experience in transport & installation (T&I) management within offshore wind or comparable large-scale infrastructure projects
  • You have a proven track record across the full project lifecycle – from early-stage development through construction to operations – with a strong understanding of technical, commercial, and contractual interdependencies
  • You combine strong technical project management expertise with a strategic mindset, enabling you to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • You are able to see the bigger picture, identify risks to the critical path early, and set clear priorities accordingly
  • You are experienced in managing complex, parallel workstreams and maintain a high level of structure, quality, and attention to detail – even under time pressure
  • You are adaptable and comfortable navigating dynamic project environments and evolving market conditions
  • You are a proactive, solution-oriented team player, collaborating effectively across interdisciplinary and international teams
  • You bring strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • You are confident in using MS Office tools and communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken
  • You enjoy working in an international environment, bring intercultural awareness, and are willing to travel as required
  • Ideally, you have gained first (functional) leadership experience, mentoring or guiding junior colleagues
  • You are motivated by and identify strongly with the renewable energy sector and the energy transition
