As Category & Commercial Growth Manager (all genders), you drive sustainable growth across categories and key customers by combining strategic category management, shopper insights and commercial performance analytics. You act as a category management partner: internally by shaping growth priorities, commercial targets and strategic recommendations, and externally by representing Beiersdorf in customer meetings as a trusted category and insights sparring partner, especially in category reviews. The role is designed for a high‑potential candidate who wants to grow into a future leadership or strategic role within Commercial, Category Management or Revenue Growth Management.
Key Responsibilities & Jobs-to-Be-Done
1. Shape strategic Category Management for growth:
- Develop and refine category strategies based on shopper, market and performance insights.
- Identify structural growth opportunities across categories (e.g. shopper missions, price tiers, formats, portfolio roles).
- Translate category trends into clear strategic implications for portfolio, promotion and distribution.
- Act as an internal thought leader for category growth topics.
2. Act as Category Management partner to Retailers:
- Participate regularly in customer meetings, especially category reviews, as CM and insights partner.
- Prepare and deliver fact‑based, compelling category stories tailored to individual retailers.
- Challenge customer perspectives using data, shopper insights and scenarios.
3. Enable growth‑focused commercial decision‑making:
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Sales, S & CM and leadership teams.
- Identify, quantify and prioritize key sales growth drivers.
- Co‑define growth ambitions and commercial targets together with customer teams.
4. Drive promotion and execution effectiveness:
- Analyze promotional performance across categories and customers.
- Act as sparring partner for Sales and Marketing on promotional strategy evolution.
5. Build scalable insight & growth frameworks:
- Own and further develop category and growth KPI frameworks.
- Ensure insights are scalable and accessible via dashboards and analytical tools.
- Act as a change driver to raise analytical and category management maturity.
Your Profile
- Several years of experience in Category Management, Commercial Excellence, Sales Analytics or related FMCG roles.
- Strong understanding of category dynamics, shopper behavior and retail environments.
- Proven ability to translate data into strategic insights and recommendations.
- Confident communicator and sparring partner across functions and towards retail customers.
- Analytical mindset and experience with reporting and dashboard tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Fluent in German (C1 level) and English, capable of handling complex professional and technical communication.
- Completed degree in business administration from a university or university of applied sciences.
