To keep up with this demand on both disk and network capacity, we continue to expand our Data Centers in every region.

This role requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This team works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure supporting Amazon’s data centers, ensuring 100% availability and first-class customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center.
• Maintain and monitor all Data Center systems including incidents, problems, changes, and monitoring, and handle problem escalation and resolution.
• Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller systems, and generators.
• Assist contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, including fiber optic, electrical certification, HVAC repair, UPS, and generator certifications.
• Assist in deploying new equipment such as building racks and cabling.
• Respond to internal Rack customer maintenance requests via the ticketing system.
• Perform site walkthroughs to verify operation of Facility Equipment and Monitoring Systems.
• Maintain state changes in mission-critical infrastructure for corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Review test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products and equipment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Requirement to be a national of an EU member state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
• Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
• Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
