The Computer Network Defense Administrator protects RCC‑E networks by operating and maintaining firewalls, IPS/IDS, proxies, VPN systems, and security controls to ensure secure, compliant, and uninterrupted DoDIN‑A operations.
The CNDA provides Tier‑III administration and sustainment of the U.S. Army Network and Cyber Operations perimeter and internal cyber‑defense stack—firewalls, IPS/IDS, web proxies, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs)—to protect and assure the availability of DoDIN‑A services across NIPRNET/SIPRNET and other supported enclaves. The CNDA executes IAVA‑driven updates, enforces DISA STIG configurations, and implements authorized service interruptions (ASIs) and configuration changes without unapproved disruption to operations.
