The Role and Candidate
We are seeking a Country/Cluster Merchandising Supervisor (Product Allocation Supervisor) – Central Europe to play a pivotal role in representing country‑level product and assortment requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for hands‑on planning for the Central Europe market while leading the Central Europe demand planning team. Well suited to junior merchandising managers or experienced merchandising planners looking to progress into a managerial role.
- Developing and owning country‑level forecasts, product ranging, and replenishment to stores
- Optimising POP MART’s inventory management and actively maintain high stock accuracy.
- Overseeing last‑mile deliveries (from warehouse to stores) across Central Europe
- Managing merchandise transfers and maintaining internal order management systems
- Conducting data analysis to support efficient retail operations
- Working cross‑functionally to maintain stock accuracy and ensure alignment across departments
- Leading a team of one to ensure smooth merchandising planning across the region
Initially, the role will focus on the Germany and Netherland market , with responsibilities expanding to other Central European countries as the business grows. This position reports directly to the Head of Country Cluster Merchandising .
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SKU‑level monthly rolling demand forecasts to support accurate replenishment and sales planning
- Define and allocate appropriate assortments from RDC/LDC to local stores based on sales trends and store requirements
- Manage the local product launch calendar in coordination with internal teams, ensuring timely execution
- Oversee merchandise transfers and daily operations between stores and warehouses
- Maintain internal data and ordering systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Work cross‑functionally with retail, logistics, visual merchandising, and the regional head office to ensure smooth operations and stock accuracy
- Participate in quarterly and annual inventory counts, ensuring effective stock management
- Conduct data analysis and provide regular reports and summaries to support decision‑making
- Handle operational emergencies and ad‑hoc tasks, resolving issues quickly and effectively, particularly those related to last‑mile deliveries
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of projects and tasks
- Undertake other responsibilities as required according to project needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field
- Commercially driven, with the ability to manage large‑scale business planning and cross‑functional collaboration
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant work experience
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and data analysis tools
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Strong sense of ownership of responsibilities, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and propose optimisation initiatives where appropriate
- Excellent multi‑tasking skills, with the ability to stay on top of multiple priorities and deliver on time
- Detail‑oriented, with the ability to solve problems quickly and handle operational emergencies effectively
- Highly self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently when required
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience in the toy industry or retail sector
- Familiarity with the Central European retail landscape and logistics operations
- Experience with inventory and order management software or ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite)
