Customer Relations Manager (m/w/d) – Internal Service, Export and Shipping Department

Your Tasks

  • Leadership and development of the office, inside sales, and shipping teams (8 members total), including coaching, onboarding, and performance reviews
  • Overall responsibility for customer service in the mechanical engineering sector, including quotations, order processing, and escalation management
  • Main contact for national and international customers and internal stakeholders
  • Interface between sales, production, logistics, and finance; direct report to Sales Director EMENA
  • Support sales in contract, pricing, and complex customer situations
  • Optimization and standardization of customer management, export, and shipping processes
  • Preparation of management reports, KPIs, and participation in international projects

Export & Customs Responsibility

  • Ensuring compliance with export control, customs, and foreign trade regulations
  • Definition and application of Incoterms based on contractual, risk, and cost considerations
  • Coordination and verification of export documentation and customs classification
  • Advising customers and internal departments on customs and trade-related topics
  • Cooperation with freight forwarders and logistics partners; support of audits and internal reviews

Head of Shipping Department

  • Responsibility for timely and compliant international delivery of conveyor components
  • Oversight of packaging, shipping quality, delivery performance, and transport costs
  • Close coordination with production and warehouse operations
  • Continuous improvement, risk management, and compliance with internal and international trade requirements

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience in sales, customer service, or export, preferably in mechanical engineering
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Very good knowledge of export control, customs regulations, Incoterms, and international trade procedures
  • Experience with international deliveries, tariff classification, export documentation, and cross-border regulations
  • High customer orientation with strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Confident use of ERP systems (e.g. SAP or comparable) and MS Office
  • Structured, solution-oriented working style with a high level of reliability and responsibility
