Overview

RoboSense is a fast-growing developer and producer of automotive-grade smart LiDAR sensors and perception software for automated and autonomous driving applications. The company focuses on delivering reliable, series-production-ready perception solutions for global automotive OEMs, supporting advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and higher levels of vehicle automation.

With a strong emphasis on engineering quality, system performance, and industrialization capability, RoboSense works closely with OEM customers to support long-term platform development and large-scale automotive programs.

Role Overview

RoboSense is seeking an experienced Director, Automotive Business Development EMEA to drive strategic growth across the European automotive market. This role is responsible for defining and executing regional business development strategies, managing senior OEM relationships, and securing profitable automotive programs in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute EMEA automotive business development strategies aligned with RoboSense’s overall growth objectives
  • Identify and prioritize target OEM customers and strategic growth opportunities within the EMEA automotive ecosystem
  • Drive new business acquisition and organic growth with existing OEM customers
  • Lead OEM RFI / RFP / RFQ processes from initial engagement through commercial award
  • Develop account penetration strategies to maximize long-term value, competitiveness, and platform success
  • Ensure commercial discipline and profitability of awarded programs in close coordination with finance and cross-functional teams
  • Support contract negotiations together with executive management, legal, and operational teams
  • Build strong executive-level relationships within OEM organizations and strengthen RoboSense’s brand presence in the region
  • Collaborate closely with North America and Asia teams to support cross-regional OEM programs
  • Provide regular customer and business updates to the global automotive executive team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience working with major European automotive OEMs (e.g. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Group)
  • Demonstrated track record of winning large-scale automotive programs and managing complex OEM sales cycles
  • Strong understanding of ADAS and autonomous driving technologies; LiDAR experience preferred
  • Additional exposure to connectivity, infotainment, SoC, or semiconductor systems is a plus
  • Fluent in both English and German (mandatory)
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and stakeholder management capability
  • Base Salary: €150,000 – €250,000 gross annual base salary, depending on experience and scope of responsibility
  • Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus, with additional spot bonuses for exceptional contributions
