The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) – Regulation, Governance and Corporate Responsibilities Department (RGCR) - Best Banking Practice and Regulatory Matters Division (BBPR) - Best Banking Practices Unit (BBP) at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026) (With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University) Please note that, as marked on our Webpage, only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from countries that have been officially granted candidate status to join the EU, can be considered (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine). Objective of the traineeship The traineeship aims to strengthen the SG BBPR Division's capacity to manage and coordinate regulatory-related activities impacting services across the Bank. The trainee will support the Division in maintaining and allocating the regulatory repository, preparing materials for internal coordination forums such as the Watch Team, and conducting focused research on regulatory topics. This will contribute to improved responsiveness, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment across services. Responsibilities You will be expected to: Assist in the maintenance of the regulatory requirements in the repository. Support the preparation of presentation materials and slide decks for the Watch Team and other internal meetings. Conduct research on selected regulatory topics and present updates to the Division. Contribute to the drafting and updating of internal procedures and documentation. Help compile and structure information for reporting and managerial use. Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills Final year of studies or University degree in Law, Political Science, European Studies, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field. Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesise complex regulatory information. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
