The test field includes medium‑ and low‑voltage switchgear, battery systems, battery storage units, as well as HIL test benches and simulation environments. You lead an international, interdisciplinary team of technicians and engineers, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality‑driven operations.
Your Responsibilities
- In your role as Test Field Manager and Responsible Electrical Specialist (vEFK), you are accountable for electrical safety and the proper execution of all electrical activities at the Erlangen site. You ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulations, standards, and internal guidelines in accordance with German requirements.
- You oversee the organization of the electrical department and are responsible for appointing qualified electrical personnel (EFK). Your duties also include designing and implementing training programs for technically qualified staff.
- You ensure the safe, efficient, and trouble‑free operation of the test field infrastructure (medium‑/low‑voltage switchgear, battery systems, HIL test benches) at the Erlangen site.
- You are responsible for the setup, modification, further development, maintenance, and servicing of the test field. This includes close collaboration with the program manager, various specialist departments, and external partners.
- You provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the test field team and coordinate all daily installation work and ongoing testing activities on‑site through operating instructions, switching authorizations, and work permits.
- You create and continuously update procedural and work instructions, as well as documentation for systems and equipment across the entire facility, including maintenance and calibration records.
- You collaborate closely with the occupational safety specialist and the company physician.
Your Profile
- You hold a recognized qualification in electrical engineering (e.g., technician, master craftsman, diploma engineer, bachelor’s or master’s degree).
- You have several years of experience in product development, commissioning, or quality assurance of electrical energy systems in accordance with DIN EN IEC 62933.
- You bring extensive, hands‑on experience as an EFK in the medium‑voltage sector, ideally as a vEFK.
- Certifications for “working under live parts” and “medium‑voltage switching authorization,” along with in‑depth knowledge of German electrical regulations and standards (e.g., VDE regulations, BetrSichV, TRBS, DGUV V3), are essential.
- You have solid experience in HSE management and safety‑related processes, including the use of risk analysis methods such as FMEA, HAZOP, and Fault Tree Analysis to identify and assess potential failure sources and develop problem‑solving strategies for continuous improvement.
- You have long‑standing leadership experience in technical teams.
- Experience with HIL test benches, simulation methods, networking, and automation technology is a plus.
- Excellent German and English language skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and assertiveness skills.
- The role requires daily on‑site presence.
