Flight Test Lead (UAV & Drone Swarms) (m/w/d)

Your mission

Plan, own, and execute UAV and drone swarm flight tests

Take full ownership of flight testing: planning, field execution, and post-test analysis

Support on-site demos and test campaigns abroad (~15–20% travel)

Lead and coordinate field operations (pilots, engineers, support crews)

Ensure safe, professional, and responsible handling of high-value flight test equipment

Develop and maintain operational documentation (procedures, checklists, risk assessments)

Work directly with regulatory bodies (e.g., EASA), manage approvals, and integrate compliance feedback

Define, set up, and operate new flight test sites and facilities

Own flight safety, risk management, and emergency procedures

Analyze flight data and support rapid system iteration

Ensure all operations are safe, robust, and enable fast learning loops

Your profile

Background in Aerospace, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar — hands‑on field experience and judgement matter more than degrees

Practical UAV flight operations experience (manual and autonomous); swarm experience is a plus

Experience with ground control and avionics software (e.g., QGroundControl, PX4, or similar); experience testing other avionics or robotic systems is transferable

Strong understanding of mission planning, CONOPS, and real‑world test execution

Experience with flight safety, emergency procedures, and incident handling

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., EASA SORA and risk assessment processes)

Highly reliable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for expensive equipment

Strong ownership mindset; able to work independently and make decisions in the field

Motivated to grow into UAV and swarm testing leadership

Experience leading field deployments and working with end‑users (military or industrial environments preferred)

Startup or fast‑paced environment experience preferred

Strong documentation and communication skills
