Full Stack Developer - Advanced

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr. Full Stack Java Developer for an opportunity in Jersey City, NJ!

Position Title: Sr. Full Stack Java Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Anticipated Start Date: Tentative Start Date (subject to change; official notice will be sent ahead of confirmation)

Expected Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Job Type: Contract to hire, On‑Site

Pay Range: $73.62 to $80.98

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non‑standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent)
• Extensive knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
• 3–5 years’ experience as a hands‑on (actively coding) Application Development Lead or related leadership role
• 5+ years as Java Application Developer in the technology stack below
• Java: expert‑level implementation skills with Core Java, Spring Boot, OOP concepts and patterns
• CI/CD: expert‑level working with Maven (build tool) and GIT (SCM tool)
• Database: expert‑level implementation skills with ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA; highly proficient in SQL across multiple databases
• UI: expert‑level implementation skills with UI frameworks such as Angular, React, JavaScript; workflow knowledge (Camunda)
• Automation: expert‑level implementation skills with ATDD, AFT, unit testing (JUnit, Karma, Cucumber/selenium/contract testing)
• Extensive experience building and working with cloud‑native micro‑service–based solutions (preferably AWS)
• Experience building and designing event‑driven systems; working experience with Kafka/MSK/MQ etc.
• Hands‑on experience with AI assist tools like Copilot, Windsurf, and knowledge of AI/ML solutions with Bedrock
• General: comfortable in more than one programming language; firm grasp of fundamental web/internet technologies
• Project Management: knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Engineering Practices:
• TDD: practical experience with unit testing; understanding of mock testing frameworks such as EasyMock or Mockito
• ATDD: experience with Acceptance Test‑Driven Development using tools like Cucumber and Selenium
• Continuous Integration: experience automating builds with Maven using CI servers such as Jenkins/Hudson
• Continuous Delivery: experience with automated deployments using a tool like Rundeck
• Experienced mentor with the ability to coach team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns that lead to high‑quality maintainable solutions
