Stellenbeschreibung:

Graduate/ Analyst (m/w/d) – Power Market Advisory

We set out to build the world’s most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector. You’ll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges. We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there\'s a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

Our Power and Low Carbon Solutions practice

Our Power and Low Carbon Solutions (PLCS) practice is looking for new graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of relevant experience to join the team in Dusseldorf (preferred), with the opportunity to locate in our offices in Berlin or Munich.

Baringa’s market leading Power & Low Carbon Solutions (PLCS) practice works with clients across the energy value chain - utilities, independent power producers, developers, network companies, commodity traders, industrials, investors, policymakers and regulators. We combine deep market, technical, commercial and regulatory expertise to help clients develop projects, deploy capital, and optimize value across the energy transition, including renewables, storage, clean molecules and low carbon infrastructure.

What you will be doing

  • Market & strategy support: Contribute to market assessments on central European wholesale power, emerging technologies (e.g., renewables, storage, PtX/clean molecules) and business models to inform corporate or investment strategies.
  • Quantitative analysis & modelling: Build and maintain datasets and simple models to assess market fundamentals, asset revenues and commercial performance (e.g., renewables and flexible resources such as batteries, pumped storage and demand response).
  • Transaction support : Assist in buy and sell-side commercial due diligence for renewables, storage and early stage low carbon assets, helping evaluate value drivers, risks and routes to market.
  • Portfolio & asset insights: Help prepare analytics on asset dispatch, hedging concepts and portfolio optimization, working closely with developers and independent power producers.
  • Tenders & auctions: Support teams in structuring and pricing bids for competitive government tenders/auctions across Europe.
  • Client deliverables : Create clear, well structured slides, memos and dashboards that turn analysis into practical recommendations for clients.

Your skills and experience

A well-rounded candidate should demonstrate a balance of strengths across these key areas:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience: Internships or up to 2 years’ experience in energy, consulting, finance, data analytics or a related area (graduates welcome).
  • Analytical skills: Strong problem solving and quantitative capability; proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint; familiarity with Python/R/SQL/Power BI is a plus.
  • Energy market interest: Understanding (or strong motivation to learn) the fundamentals of central European wholesale electricity markets, market design, regulation and commercial structures.
  • Domain exposure: Interest or initial experience in valuation of renewables and storage, routes to market, and flexible resources (batteries, pumped storage, DSR).
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, able to translate analysis into concise narratives and slides for clients.
  • Ways of working: Organized, proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in small, blended teams.
  • Languages: German and English (advanced/C1) required.
