Group Financial Controller (m/f/d)

Overview

Group Financial Controller (m/f/d) at AutoScout24. Role reports to the Group CFO and leads a group accounting team of 15 directly with global accounting resources of 70+. The scope includes oversight of Group Financial Control, Accounting, Group Systems and Shared Services in a high‑growth digital automotive marketplace.

Responsibilities

• External reporting: deliver timely, compliant quarterly and annual reports.
• Accounting policies: lead evolution of accounting practices to support new business models, propositions and acquisitions.
• Financial consolidation: direct consolidation of ~50 entities, ensuring a cohesive financial narrative across all units; deliver monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Financial reporting knowledge: deepen understanding and application of current and emerging accounting policies/IFRS recommendations.
• Internal controls: oversee growing Internal Control function, safeguarding against financial risk.
• Systems: senior executive ownership of ERP systems and processes.
• Taxation: define and lead transfer pricing and VAT strategy across markets.
• Audit relationships: senior liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit process.
• Audit planning: organize and conduct Audit Committee meetings, preparing strategic insights.
• Financing activities: support financing activities and equity transactions, contributing to strategic financial planning.
• Team leadership: lead and inspire a dedicated team of accounting & internal control professionals.

Qualifications

• ACA qualified; previous experience from one of the big four accounting firms.
• Track record in a European listed company as Group Financial Controller, Group Head of Accounting or equivalent; prior IPO experience helpful.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and tax legislation.
• Strong leadership credentials; proven ability to build high‑performing teams internationally.
• Proven ability to build relationships with executive leadership, country management, finance directors and group functions.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages an advantage.
