We are based in Düsseldorf and put the client at the centre of both the indices we calculate and our processes. Our clients include global investment banks, asset managers and family offices.
As part of Chartered Investment Germany GmbH (CIG), which sees itself as a capital-markets-as-a-service company, we contribute to the establishment and development of investment and index solutions. Furthermore, as part of the Chartered Group, we benefit from a worldwide network. This consists of a global group of banks and financial service providers with various locations worldwide.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an Index Product Development Specialist (m/f/d) who enjoys working in a team, takes on responsibility, and actively supports our further development.
Your tasks
- Generate ideas for new index solutions and translate client requirements and market trends into scalable and implementable index concepts.
- Build prototypes and conduct backtests for newly proposed index structures to ensure robustness and viability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as IT, legal, risk, and operations to ensure smooth index implementation and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to uncover client needs and identify new market opportunities.
- Ensure index methodologies align with industry and regulatory standards.
- Conduct research on market trends and stay ahead of index industry relevant developments.
- Contribute to the automation and improvement of index calculation, validation, and operational processes.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and analytical materials for client meetings, sales pitches, and internal decision-making.
Your profile
- Academic degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in index construction or product development, within financial markets.
- Strong understanding of index methodologies, financial instruments, and market trends.
- Proficiency in data analysis, quantitative modeling, and backtesting tools.
- Established network within banks, asset managers, and family offices is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, VBA and/or R.
- Excellent English presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to clients. German is a plus.
