Lab Technicians

Execute high-quality experiments that make autonomous materials discovery possible Dunia is building AI for one of the hardest unsolved problems in science: turning materials discovery from an academic, trial-and-error process into a programmable, scalable discipline. Robots, software, and AI depend on experimental execution that is precise, repeatable, and honest about its limitations. As a Lab Technician at Dunia, you are a key part of that system. You ensure that what the lab produces is real signal, not noise. Your work directly affects whether models learn correctly, whether experiments can be trusted, and whether discovery accelerates or stalls. This role is for technicians who take pride in applying extreme attention to detail to their work.

Your tasks will include:

Run experiments that matter

• Execute synthesis, deposition, and device fabrication with care and consistency
• Perform electrochemical measurements where small mistakes have large consequences
• Understand not just how to run an experiment, but why it’s run that way

Work in a human-robot lab

• Operate automated lab equipment and digital experiment systems
• Ensure data is recorded accurately and completely
• Spot issues early and speak up when something doesn’t look right

Keep the lab sharp

• Maintain order, safety, and readiness in a fast-moving lab environment
• Take ownership of tools, materials, and workflows
• Help improve how experiments are run as throughput increases

Grow your technical craft

• Learn new experimental techniques and technologies
• Gain exposure to automation, AI-driven discovery, and product development
• Develop into a more senior technical role as the platform evolves

Your profile

• Trained lab technician (CTA / Chemielaborant:in or similar), or hands-on chemistry graduate
• Experienced enough to know where experiments can fail
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and reliable
• Curious, practical, and proud of doing high-quality work
• Comfortable working in a modern, digital lab environment
• Good command of English (B1), German skills are a plus
